It is very important to us to select materials that conserve resources.
In addition to organically grown cotton, we often use MicroModal® from Lenzing for our textiles, a cellulose fiber obtained from beech wood that is extremely light, soft and supple.

GOTS
GOTS is the world's leading standard in the textile industry, covering a wide range of stringent environmental and social criteria. It is important to know that only textiles made from at least 70% organically produced natural fibers are allowed to carry the GOTS label. GOTS-certified products give you the assurance that sustainable production of the textiles is guaranteed along the entire production chain: from the extraction of the raw fibers to environmentally friendly and socially responsible production to the labeling of the end products.
Even if producers with whom we work have a GOTS certificate, we are not allowed to officially communicate or advertise this unless we ourselves have also been certified for the respective products.

Our producer in the Swabian Alb can carry out many production steps itself, as it is one of the last fully integrated companies in Germany. However, in order to work economically, they have outsourced the manufacturing to Romania and commissioned a sewing shop there.
Although the distances between the individual processing sites are quite long, they are still manageable compared to companies that only have their production in Asia.
At our Portuguese partners, production takes place locally, i.e. in Portugal. The goods are then transported by land to our warehouse in Germany.
All textiles are also 100% climate-neutral - because we have offset all emissions released along the entire value chain via a climate protection project with ClimatePartner.

GOTS-certified products give you the assurance that sustainable production of the textiles is guaranteed along the entire production chain: from the extraction of the raw fibers to environmentally friendly and socially responsible production to the labeling of the end products.
Even if producers with whom we work have a GOTS certificate, we are not allowed to officially communicate or advertise this unless we ourselves have also been certified for the respective products.

Our producer in the Swabian Alb can carry out many production steps itself, as it is one of the last fully integrated companies in Germany. However, in order to work economically, they have outsourced the manufacturing to Romania and commissioned a sewing shop there.
Although the distances between the individual processing sites are quite long, they are still manageable compared to companies that only have their production in Asia.
At our Portuguese partners, production takes place locally, i.e. in Portugal. The goods are then transported by land to our warehouse in Germany.
All textiles are also 100% climate-neutral - because we have offset all emissions released along the entire value chain via a climate protection project with ClimatePartner.

With this goal in mind, Sarah and Benjamin founded the small Cologne label erlich textil in 2016.
