At erlich textil, we take responsibility for people and the environment seriously when producing our textiles. To ensure fair and sustainable conditions throughout our entire supply chain, it’s essential to trace where the materials for your erlich pieces come from and where they are processed.

Now, we’re excited to share our next big step toward greater transparency: Together with  retraced we’ve taken a closer look at the supply chains of select products—so you can better understand where your clothing really comes from.

What is retraced?

retraced is a technology company that helps us make our production processes even more transparent . With retraced, you get detailed insights into the supply chain behind your erlich pieces — right down to the raw materials.

We document every supply chain detail we have, including:

• The country of origin of our organic cotton

• The spinning, knitting, dyeing, finishing, and manufacturing processes

• The packaging and final retail stage

This means you’ll soon be able to trace exactly where your erlich pieces come from.

retraced also plays a key role when we work with new suppliers. They register on www.retraced.com, complete an assessment, and answer social and environmental sustainability questions. This allows us to determine whether a supplier meets our sustainability standards.

Why Are Transparent Supply Chains So Important?

Transparent supply chains are essential—they lay the foundation for fair, sustainable, and responsible production. Without true transparency, it’s impossible to verify the social and environmental standards under which products are made.

In the traditional textile industry, supply chains are often highly opaque, making it difficult to assess working conditions. This lack of transparency can result in poor labor conditions, exploitation, and environmental harm.

By ensuring full traceability, transparency empowers you to:

Make more informed purchasing decisions,

Support fair and sustainable production,

Contribute to positive change in the fashion industry.

retraced at erlich textil

Integrating retraced into our online shop is a major step toward greater transparency. From sourcing raw materials to production and shipping, we want to share this information with you as openly as possible.

Our partnership with retraced allows both us and you to  monitor production processes and ensure that our textiles are made fairly and as sustainably as possible.

We started with 11 pilot products, where you can now see the supply chain journey on their respective product pages. These items already feature retraced supply chain transparency: Cotton Select BademantelElisePaulHugoYukiJasperAndiAstridMaxiMikaCasual Cotton Gerippte Socke. However, for privacy reasons, you won’t see the exact names and addresses of our suppliers.

This is partly due to data protection regulations and partly because, in some cases, even we only know the country of origin of certain materials—especially with cotton, where we never receive the precise location of the plantation. For this reason, our product pages display country-level information instead.

Additionally, gathering detailed supply chain data can be a significant effort for our suppliers, which is why obtaining deeper insights often takes time.

Working with retraced is an important step toward greater supply chain transparency. Since textile supply chains are highly complex and opaque, obtaining and sharing precise information remains a challenge. That’s why we plan to prioritize this issue even more in the future.

QR Codes for Even More Transparency

Our next big step is the introduction of QR codes that will store all key product information from retraced. These QR codes could be sewn into or printed on our products. With this system, not only our customers but also textile recyclers and sorters will be able to access all relevant product details. We aim to launch these QR codes by mid-next year, further enhancing transparency across the entire supply chain.
