For men, we deliberately maintain a reduced material setup: GOTS-certified organic cotton and TENCEL™ Lyocell. No modal, no unnecessary synthetic blends, no third line just for the catalog. Two fabrics, two use cases, clear decision.
The Two Material Lines
Casual Cotton – GOTS-certified organic cotton, manufactured in Turkey. Robust, breathable, easy to care for. The classic everyday material – for the office, sports, winter, sleep. Globally, less than 1% of cotton comes from certified organic farming; for us, 100% of our cotton products are GOTS-certified organic or cotton in conversion.
Light Touch – TENCEL™ Lyocell from Lenzing, sourced from Portugal. Cellulose fiber made from European eucalyptus, produced using a closed-loop process (over 99% of solvents are recovered). Silky, flowing, temperature-regulating, dries faster than cotton. For summer, business, travel.
No modal in the men's range. We only carry modal for women (TENCEL™ Modal), not for men. If you are looking for a fiber that feels like modal, try our Lyocell line.

Turkey for Casual Cotton (cotton basics) – a region with a strong cotton industry and European manufacturing standards. Portugal for Light Touch (Lyocell). We visit every partner personally. Our suppliers are certified according to Öko-Tex Standard 100. In 2025, we were nominated for the German Sustainability Award.

erlich textil was founded in Cologne in 2016. In 2022, the Swiss Calida Group acquired the brand; in 2023, a five-person team from the founding members bought the company back – it has been founder-managed ever since.

What does sustainable mean for men's underwear?
For us: 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton or TENCEL™ Lyocell produced in a closed-loop process, audited partners in Europe and Turkey, personally visited production facilities, Öko-Tex Standard 100 at the supplier level. Not a single label – a sum of decisions.
Why don't you carry modal for men?
Because our Light Touch line already covers that with Lyocell – similarly soft, similarly temperature-regulating, same brand (Lenzing). A third material would only bloat the assortment without bringing a real difference in fit.
What sizes do you carry?
XS–XXL in all cuts. On each product page, you'll find a size chart with waist and hip measurements in cm. As a small fair-fashion brand, we expand our size offerings every year.
Boxer briefs or Trunks – which is more common?
Classic boxer briefs are the all-rounder for most men. Trunks are tighter and shorter, without a leg section – better under tight jeans and for sports. Woven boxers are the relaxed cut for home or summer.
