How do you view sales as a company committed to sustainability?

As a fair and sustainable company, we are aware that discounts always come with costs. Costs for us as a company, because our already tight margins decrease and in some cases even turn negative on certain items. Costs for our suppliers and partners, because discounts push the textile industry further towards a negative price competition. This indirectly means more pressure on wages, more pressure on raw material prices, more pressure on the entire system.

So why do you still join in on the whole sale madness?

The e(h)rlich answer is: because we have to. Due to the current state of the economy, we all have less disposable income. At the same time, costs are rising due to inflation. The geopolitical situation adds to that. It’s understandable that people are looking for deals. Fair Fashion prices are higher than Fast Fashion, and sales make it easier to access our products. No sale shaming.

Why do you call it Transparent Sale?

As a super small company with a team of eight people, committed to fairness and sustainability, we want to use this sale to explain the background transparently and make topics visible. This includes the impact of our industry on the climate, what high return rates mean for small businesses, and how our costs are structured. From the very beginning, we disclose all deals openly. Completely transparent, no hidden tricks. With less stress and more time to reflect on what you really want to buy.

As an erlich friends member, you’ll always be the first to know when we drop new products or kick off a sale. Plus, we’ll regularly share community inspiration on how to style and mix our pieces. And of course, you’ll get updates on key events and initiatives fighting climate change and working towards a better world.

What do you mean by product testing? Do I get free products from you?

Yes, exactly! You can become an erlich product tester. Once per quarter – every three months – we run a free product test. Before each round, we send out a questionnaire to all erlich friends and select multiple testers to receive our latest and greatest products for free. And yes, you get to keep them! In return, we’d love your honest review, plus some great photos and videos.

Does free shipping apply to all orders?

Free shipping applies to all orders with a delivery address in Germany or Austria, as long as you use the email address you registered with for erlich friends when placing your order.

Huh? I still see shipping costs in my cart!

That can happen if you’re not logged into your account. No worries – as soon as you sign in with your email at checkout, the shipping costs will drop to zero!

Is return shipping free for erlich friends too?
