The fashion industry is the second largest polluter after the oil industry – emitting more greenhouse gases than all international flights and shipping combined. That's why we teamed up with ConClimate to strategically record and offset our emissions.
The PCF for 2021 was calculated product-specifically by ConClimate and was 1,158.1 t CO2. All indirect emissions are included until the product leaves the warehouse: fiber origin, yarn production, material production, dyeing, bleaching, finishing, cutting, sewing, and storage. Parcel shipping is offset separately via DHL GoGreen.
For 2021, ConClimate calculated a CCF value of 49.9 tons of CO2 for our office location in Cologne. These are the emissions from heating, water consumption, company cars, and electricity consumption – everything that arises in daily office operations.
Our Carbon Offset Projects
In 2021, we offset the resulting emissions from PCF and CCF with two projects:
Gas Treatment in Istanbul, Turkey: At two large landfills, escaping gas is captured and converted into electricity instead of releasing greenhouse gases uncontrollably into the atmosphere.
Solar Energy in Jaloya, India: Solar parks generate 349,000 MWh of clean electricity annually, replacing fossil fuels and creating new jobs.
