Six people, four machines and a family's dream formed the beginning of Impetus in 1973 – today one of Portugal's leading family businesses in underwear production and distribution. From its own brands to private label production for global customers and orders from the public sector, Impetus is a reliable partner. This even applies to small customers like us here at erlich. And we think that's really great.
Since 2025, Impetus has been producing all of our men's underwear. Be it the Light Touch collection made from Lenzing Tencel Lyocell or the Casual Cotton collection made from organic cotton (GOTS certified). Subtle logo embossing on the tone-on-tone waistband gives all our men's briefs and boxers a modern yet understated look. This allows for an occasional bolder color to regularly refresh the collections.
Modal is made from beech wood cellulose and is known for its silky-soft feel. Not all manufacturing processes are equally sustainable – that's why we rely on TENCEL™ Modal with Eco Clean technology. This process uses oxygen-based chemistry instead of conventional bleaches and is significantly more environmentally friendly.
